April 28 : Honouring Lives Lost – Renewing our Commitment to Workplace Safety.
On April 28th – National Day of Mourning, we paused to remember and honour the workers who lost their lives, were injured, or became ill as a result of their work. “One life lost is one too many.”

District 78 members and staff, stood alongside fellow IAM representatives, workers, and community partners at Toronto Pearson International Airport in an emotional ceremony to pay tribute to those we have lost. Together, we reflected, remembered, and renewed our commitment to protecting one another.
The impact of workplace tragedies reaches far beyond the job site—it is felt deeply by families, friends, and communities. These losses remind us why vigilance matters, why safety measures must be followed diligently, and why we can never become complacent.
