An early morning start for President Laura Walton & hundreds of ONA members in Cambridge today!
Joined by Ontario Health Coalition Natalie Mehra and MPPs, Robin Lennox and Ainslie Clancy, workers delivered a pink slip to Southbridge Care Homes. They called on CEO Ryan Bell to prioritize healthcare over profits and to ensure nurse to client ratios!
“We are calling on Nursing Home CEOs to negotiate new collective agreements with fair wage increases to recruit and retain staff.” said ONA president Erin Ariss
Southbridge Care Homes is a private, for profit long term care provider who made headlines when the Canadian military needed to be called in following reports of deplorable conditions during the COVID 19 pandemic.
